Gospel Way Covenant Church
Gospel Way Covenant Church was organized in 1977 as the Gospel Way Bible Church under the leadership of Rev. William M. Watts, Sr. Its first service was held at 1450 S. Indiana Ave. in the old St. Luke’s Hospital Chapel. In 1979 the congregation affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church*, and with the help of the Denomination was able to move to its current location and the name was changed to the Gospel Way Covenant Church. During those years the church set up an alternative school while the teachers were on strike and was able to minister to many children and eventually their parents.
As a family of believers, we are empowered and led by the Holy Spirit, acknowledging the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and the Bible as the true “Word of God.”

Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God's mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably connected. As God’s mission is fulfilled through the redemption and reconciliation of His people, our mission as the Church is to honor Him by pursuing redemption and reconciliation, both individually and collectively.

Our vision is to be a community of grace-filled people, empowered for transformation and the establishment of new churches. We aim to faithfully pass on the Gospel from person to person, and from one generation to the next. The Gospel is about restoring humanity to God’s community. True growth happens in community, where we can experience the grace and knowledge of Jesus. In this community, the world can see the power of the Gospel and the nature of God’s work in us. As we live lives marked by confession, transformation, friendship, forgiveness, justice, power, and love, those around us will be drawn to ask, “What is happening here?”
