Evangelical Affirmational Covenant
We, the members of Gospel Way Covenant Church, affirm and commit ourselves to the following beliefs and values as we seek to live out our faith and fulfill God’s mission on earth:
Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
We affirm that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the only way to eternal life. Through His death, resurrection, and ascension, we are redeemed, reconciled to God, and empowered by His Spirit to live in a way that brings glory to God.
The Authority of Scripture
We affirm that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is our guide for faith, practice, and life. We believe in its full authority over our lives and commit to studying it, living by it, and applying it to all aspects of our lives.
The Work of the Holy Spirit
We affirm the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. The Holy Spirit empowers, equips, and guides us in our daily walk with God. We believe the Spirit convicts of sin, transforms lives, and gifts believers to serve the church and the world.
Salvation through Grace by Faith
We affirm that salvation is a gift from God, offered freely by His grace and received by faith. We believe that no one can earn their salvation, but that it is solely through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that we are saved.
The Mission of the Church
We affirm that the church is called to be a witness of God's kingdom on earth. We are committed to spreading the gospel, making disciples, and serving our community and the world. We believe that the Church is God’s instrument for the transformation of lives and communities.
Community and Fellowship
We affirm the importance of the body of Christ, the Church, as a community of believers united in love, support, and worship. We are committed to living out the gospel through authentic relationships, building up one another, and supporting each other in our journey of faith.
Justice, Mercy, and Compassion
We affirm our responsibility to reflect God’s heart for justice, mercy, and compassion. We are committed to serving the marginalized, advocating for the oppressed, and sharing the love of Christ with all people, especially those in need.
A Life of Holiness and Discipleship
We affirm that followers of Jesus are called to live lives of holiness, growing in the likeness of Christ through daily discipleship, prayer, and service. We seek to honor God in all that we do, striving for moral integrity, spiritual maturity, and Christ-like character.
Living with Hope for the Future
We affirm that Jesus will return one day to fully establish His Kingdom. We live with the hope and anticipation of His return, and we are committed to living out our faith with urgency, knowing that our labor is not in vain.
